When you picture blonde hair, you think of gorgeous long, thick blonde locks. In reality, most blondes go through hell to get that look!
If you're an on the scalp bleaching type of girl - woah! you are one tough cookie! This is a process, not for the faint hearted. If you can handle the bleaching, then the scrubbing while washing it out, then the toner application, then the washing, then the combing and brushing and pulling - then I commend you!
Going blonde (and staying blonde!) is not for everyone. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely worth it - the attention the blondes get (from men...and women!) is fantastic. But if you're going to commit to the blonde life - then you need to look after it. And I mean treatments, treatments, treatments!
Some tips on going blonde;
Make sure you hair is in healthy condition to start with
Do your research on your hairdresser, ask for photos of recommendations from other customers to make sure they know what they are doing
Be prepared that it may not happen overnight! Depending on your base colour and hair strength, the process may takes weeks to achieve the desired level of blonde
Listen to your hairdressers advice. If they recommend certain shampoos, conditioners, treatments and styling products - USE THEM!
Be prepared to get a haircut! Depending on how well your hair manages bleach, a trim might be required
SAVE UP - because no matter which salon you go to, blonde services are expensive because of the level of expertise, time and product required and you will need to get those roots done on a regular basis (unless you're a fan of the regrowth look!)
